I'm Alina Pleskova: a poet, editor, Russian immigrant turned proud Philadelphian, & consummate Aquarius. My first chapbook, What Urge Will Save Us, was published in 2017 by Spooky Girlfriend Press. I've been told that I'm solid company on long car rides.
You can read some of my poems in Cosmonauts Avenue, American Poetry Review, Queen Mob's Teahouse, Elderly, Mistress, Vagabond City Lit, & more. I also co-edit bedfellows - a biannual print & online literary magazine that catalogs work about sex, desire, & intimacy - with Jackee Sadicario. And I curate a project called Sitting Room Series (on Twitter/Instagram), in which I visit writers' homes & film short clips of them performing in their chosen habitats.
When not working or traveling for my full-time gig in academic publishing, I host/perform at readings & teach the occasional poetry workshop.
